Chase, our beloved companion, loyal guardian and family member crossed the rainbow bridge surrounded by love, at home, cradled in our arms on May 10th, 2025. Chase came into our lives as a foster dog at the age of 4, and we were lucky enough to spend the last 14 years with him. He was saved from a kill shelter, where he had been labeled “unadoptable” due to his trauma that gave him severe separation anxiety and stress. While we volunteered at the shelter, he had been adopted several times and returned each time. But we saw his spirit and the depth of love he was capable of. He just needed time, love and patience to help heal his wounds. Fostering quickly turned into forever and he became not just our pet, but our best friend. He was fiercely protective, incredibly handsome and had a heart bigger than his paws. Chase loved to go camping, run wild and free, dig to his heart’s content and curl up close for a cuddle or a good rub. For over a decade, he stood faithfully by our side, giving us his whole heart. The house feels incredibly empty without him, his absence, a silence that echoes through every room. But even through the sadness, we are so grateful for every adventure, every nuzzle and every memory. Chase, thank you for choosing us and for loving us so deeply. You will always be missed, but never forgotten. Until we meet again. |
