In Loving Memory of Dusty
Beloved companion, guardian, and friend
2012 – 2025
Dusty, a once-feral soul who grew into one of the most affectionate and gentle companions imaginable, passed away on May 6th, 2025. He was around thirteen years old.
Rescued at the age of two, Dusty came into our lives sick, afraid, and uncertain of people, but with time, patience, and love, he blossomed into a warm-hearted snuggler whose presence lit up our home. His journey from wild to loving was a quiet miracle, one we were lucky enough to witness and be part of.
Dusty wasn’t just a cat, he was a healer, a friend, and, somehow, a leader. In time, he brought two other feral cats to our farm, as if he knew it was a place of safety. His trust in us became their trust, and our family grew because of him.
His favorite place was the sunroom, where he’d stretch out in the warmth and watch the world with gentle curiosity. And his favorite thing? A simple string, which he chased with the kind of joy that makes a person laugh out loud. Every quiet moment on the couch, every nuzzle, every purr, they were gifts we will never forget.
Dusty is buried just outside the sunroom he loved, within sight of the home he helped shape. We miss him deeply. The silence he leaves behind is immense, but so is the love he gave.
He is survived by four feline companions and two grieving humans who will always carry him in their hearts.
If there is a heaven, we hope he is there now… warm, safe, and curled up in the lap of something greater, waiting for the string to move.
Rest well, Dusty. You are so loved.
